Hôtel Claret stands at 44 boulevard de Bercy, in the Bercy quarter of the 12th arrondissement, between the Accor Arena and the finance ministry. It is independent. Atout France, the state body that ranks French hotels, has listed it three stars since 27 March 2023 and counts 52 rooms. Of the nine Bercy hotels in our list it is the second largest, behind only Pullman Paris Centre - Bercy with 392 rooms; every four-star neighbour except the Pullman has fewer rooms.

Rooms and what comes with them

The hotel describes a terrace on the garden side and cellars under vaults, which it uses for seminars. Rooms on the top floor are sloped and have exposed beams; those same “charm rooms” are the ones listed with air conditioning, so a summer stay in a classic room deserves a question to the hotel. Reception is staffed day and night. The hotel says none of its 52 rooms is wheelchair accessible and that pets are not accepted.

Getting around from Bercy

Bercy station (lines 6 and 14) is 150 m away, about two minutes. Dugommier (line 6) takes ten minutes on foot and Gare de Lyon, with lines 1 and 14, RER A, RER D and Transilien R, eleven. From our Bercy reference point, Cour Saint-Émilion, the Louvre pyramid and Notre-Dame are each 18.5 minutes by transit, the Eiffel Tower 35.5 and Orly 23; Charles-de-Gaulle terminal 2 is 58.5 minutes by RER B and line 14, and terminal 1 51.5.

Against its neighbours

In the same quarter Hôtel La Petite Rosa (15 rooms) and Hôtel Bel Oranger (25) are the other three-stars; the remaining six are four-stars, among them Le 209 Paris Bercy and Maison Traversière. On equipment, Claret lists no spa, pool or restaurant. Across the 12th arrondissement, Atout France counts 73 classified hotels in the Bercy, Quinze-Vingts, Bel-Air and Picpus districts, 43 of them three-star and none five-star.
