How we chose these hotels
The centre point is the middle of the avenue des Champs-Élysées, at its Wikidata coordinates. For every hotel in our database we calculated the straight-line distance between its own coordinates and that point, and kept the five-star hotels within 600 m. There are 24 of them. We ordered them by hand-checked files first, then by stars, then by distance, and describe the fifteen that have a file here: they stand between 164 and 571 m from the avenue.

Six hotels were read by hand. Lancaster and Fouquet’s come with the facilities the hotel lists; the four 2026 additions (Bulgari, Four Seasons George V, Le Bristol and Hôtel de Sers) come from a manual check of the five-star hotels, which for Bulgari and Le Bristol could not read the official site and keeps only the palace distinction. For the other nine, a reading of the official site gave only the category, the room count, the address, the metro stations and a few dated facts, which we attribute to the hotel. We show no price. Nine of the 24 five-star hotels in the circle have no file: Marriott Champs-Élysées, La Maison Champs-Élysées, de Berri, Prince de Galles, Monsieur George, Montaigne and Meliá Villa Marquis are among them. Four more hand-checked five-star hotels stand just outside the circle and are listed elsewhere: La Clef Champs-Élysées (636 m), Sofitel Arc de Triomphe (759 m), Vernet (769 m) and Royal Monceau (875 m), in the Arc de Triomphe list and the 8th arrondissement list.
Where the five-star hotels are
The fifteen fall into four groups. Around rue de Berri and rue François 1er, Lancaster and Grand Powers are close to George V (line 1), and Elysia to Saint-Philippe du Roule (line 9). Around the Rond-Point, Marignan and San Régis are close to Franklin D. Roosevelt (lines 1 and 9), and Montesquieu to Saint-Philippe du Roule. Damantin, towards the Invalides, is seven minutes from Invalides and from Franklin D. Roosevelt. Towards the Seine and avenue Montaigne, Plaza Athénée and Demeure Montaigne are served by Alma-Marceau (line 9), and La Réserve by Champs-Élysées–Clemenceau. On avenue George V and its neighbouring streets, Bulgari, the Four Seasons George V and Hôtel de Sers are six or seven minutes from both George V (line 1) and Alma-Marceau, while Le Bristol, on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, is four minutes from Miromesnil (lines 9 and 13).

Line 1 runs direct from the area to the Louvre, Hôtel de Ville and Bastille: the Louvre is 12.5 minutes by public transport from the Rond-Point, and the Eiffel Tower 19. Our neighbourhood sheet rates the area as recommended for couples and for shopping, possible for a first visit, a family or nightlife, and not recommended on a budget.
Which hotel for whom
- A spa day. Fouquet’s (750 m² of spa), La Réserve (16 m pool), Lancaster (private spa), Demeure Montaigne (stone pool), Damantin (14 m pool), and the Four Seasons George V and Hôtel de Sers, whose sites list a spa without giving its size.
- A small house. Montesquieu (18 rooms), Elysia (39), La Réserve (40) and San Régis (42), against 244 rooms at the Four Seasons George V and 208 at Plaza Athénée.
- A tower view. Marignan, San Régis and Grand Powers, with the caveat above; the Four Seasons George V and Hôtel de Sers name suites with a view of the tower, those suites only.
- Reduced mobility. Demeure Montaigne lists three accessible rooms, Lancaster accessible rooms and the Four Seasons George V accessibility features; San Régis states that it is not accessible.
For the same area at three to five stars, see the list of hotels near the Champs-Élysées. The 8th arrondissement list goes further, in every category and beyond the 600 m circle.
