How we chose these hotels
The 17th claims an address when its geocoded point falls inside the arrondissement. We started from twenty candidates, spread across categories: the four five-star hotels, the five four-star and five three-star hotels nearest a station in a straight line, then four two-star and two one-star hotels. Twelve have a file in our base and appear here, from five stars to two, each category sorted by distance to the station. Eight have none and are not described: Renaissance Arc de Triomphe (five stars), Hyatt Regency Étoile and La Villa des Ternes (four stars), Darcet, Royal Wagram and Élysée Étoile (two stars), Des Dames and Avenir Jonquière (one star). Miss Fuller and Belfast, two four-star hotels near Étoile, have a file but lie further from a station than the five four-star hotels kept.

All twelve come from the automatic reading of their websites. We therefore give only the official category and its date, rooms, address, metro and the dated facts the hotels publish, and never a facility that was not confirmed. Walking times are computed from the coordinates at 80 m a minute, with a factor of 1.3 on the straight line. Prices are not published here.
Étoile, Pereire or Batignolles
The twelve fall into three areas, and the lines serving them differ.

- Étoile and Ternes. Maison Albar, Dadou, Princesse Caroline, Marmotel and Pavillons stand around Charles de Gaulle – Étoile and Argentine, on lines 1, 2 and 6. Princesse Caroline and Dadou are the two hotels nearest Étoile.
- Courcelles, Pereire and Champerret. Casimir, Avama Prony and Armoni are served by line 3, the RER C and the tram T3b; Fertel Maillot is at Neuilly – Porte Maillot (line 1, RER C and E, tram T3b).
- Rome, Villiers and Batignolles. J’adore and La Fondation are on lines 2 and 3 (Rome, Villiers), B&B at Porte de Clichy (lines 13 and 14). La Fondation, via Pont-Cardinet, and B&B have line 14 for Orly.
By our calculation the Louvre pyramid lies between 2.7 km and 4.2 km from these hotels in a straight line, and the Eiffel Tower between 1.9 km and 4.2 km, so transport matters more than walking. For a stay near the monument, see hotels near the Arc de Triomphe, and for the neighbouring district, hotels in the 16th arrondissement.
