How we chose these hotels
A hotel belongs to the page when its postcode is 75012 and its geocoded point lies in the arrondissement. We placed first the nine hotels whose file was checked by hand (four stars before three, then by distance to the nearest metro or rail station). We then took the others in turn by category, four stars first, then three, two and one, the one nearest a station first in each category, up to twenty candidates. Fourteen of the twenty have a file in our base and appear above; six have none and could not be described: Best Western Plus Hôtel 61 Paris Nation (four stars) and five one- and two-star houses. The 12th has 14 more hotels with a file that this turn rule leaves out, among them the Novotel Paris Gare de Lyon and the Mercure Lyon Bastille.

Distances come from the coordinates: straight line multiplied by 1.3, at 80 m a minute, to the nearest station. For hotels read by hand we list the facilities they state; for the others we give the official category, rooms, address and metro, and say “the hotel states” when it speaks of itself. No prices are published, and the 12th has no five-star hotel.
Three corners of one arrondissement
The picks fall into three groups. Around Gare de Lyon and rue d’Austerlitz, on lines 1 and 14 and RER A and D, stand six of the eight four-stars (Parisianer, Maison Traversière, Riesner, Sleeping Belle, Mercure, citizenM) and two three-stars, Palym and Bel Oranger. Around Bercy and Cour Saint-Émilion, on line 14, are the Pullman and the Claret. Towards Dugommier, Porte Dorée and Porte de Vincennes, on lines 6, 8 and 1, the 209, La Petite Rosa, the ibis Daumesnil and the ibis Styles Nation are the four easternmost addresses of the page.

- First visit. Choose the Gare de Lyon corner: line 1 reaches the Louvre without a change. See also hotels near Gare de Lyon.
- Families. The Bercy side, with the park and Bercy Village; see the Bercy hotels.
- Budget. The 12th has 43 three-star hotels but only eleven in the two lowest categories; compare the Bastille area.
- Airports. Line 14 makes Orly the easy one; Charles de Gaulle always needs a change.
The 2026 tourist tax is €8.45 per adult per night in a four-star hotel and €5.53 in a three-star; minors do not pay.
