How we chose these hotels
The centre point is the Eiffel Tower, at its Wikidata coordinates. We measured the straight-line distance between the tower and each classified hotel of the registry that belongs to this guide: 36 lie within 900 m, 28 of them with a fiche in our database. We took the fiches read by hand first (The One Alma, La Clef Tour Eiffel, Lévêque and Dupleix), then filled up to twenty by rotating between five stars, four, three, two and one, the nearest first in each level. The list follows the same order: hand-checked fiches, then stars from five to two, then distance.

Twenty candidates came out of that rule. One has no fiche in our database and cannot be described: the Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel (four stars, 430 rooms, 284 m). Hôtel de la Paix Tour Eiffel (three stars, 648 m) has a fiche but its link to the official site is uncertain, so we left it out. La Clef Tour Eiffel (five stars, 822 m), without a fiche when this page was first drawn, now has one, checked by hand. Eighteen are listed. Nine other hotels with a fiche lie inside the circle but were not drawn by the rotation: Maison FL, La Bourdonnais, Alberte, Du Cadran and Relais Saint-Charles (four stars), and Best Western au Trocadéro, Cler Hôtel, Le Cercle and Du Champ de Mars (three stars). Several of them state a tower view; the four- and five-star ones are on our page of hotels with a view of the tower.
One caution on facts. Fourteen of the eighteen fiches were built from the hotel’s own website by automatic reading. For those, we only state the category, the room count, the address, the metro and what the hotel says about itself, with attribution. We do not list amenities for them. A tower view is reported only where the hotel’s site says so, and nearly always for some rooms and not for the whole building.
We show no rates. Prices change by the night, so the page gives the price range implied by the star rating instead.
Which area for whom
The hotels sit in three clusters. The Gros-Caillou side, around rue Cler and École Militaire in the 7th, is the village-like one; the pedestrian rue Cler is the food street. The Grenelle and Bir-Hakeim side in the 15th has many three-stars: our data counts 25 in Grenelle alone. The Trocadéro and Passy side in the 16th is across the river, with Iéna and Trocadéro for lines 6 and 9 and La Clef Tour Eiffel on avenue Kléber.

Our neighbourhood sheet rates the Eiffel Tower area as recommended for families and for couples, and as possible for a first visit and for a modest budget. It advises against it for nightlife and shopping. Two lines run here: line 6 (Bir-Hakeim, Dupleix) and line 8 (École Militaire, La Tour-Maubourg), plus RER C at Champ de Mars.
If the tower matters less than the Louvre, compare with the Opéra district: the tower is 26 minutes by public transport from place de l’Opéra, against a 14-minute walk from rue Cler. For the Champs-Élysées side, see the Champs-Élysées list.
