How we chose and ranked them
For the 8th arrondissement, a hotel is kept if its geocoded address falls inside it and the Atout France register classifies it. Our files hold 52 hotels of the 8th. A list stops at 20 and hand-read hotels come first: the nine hotels read before and the nine five-stars added after our manual check of October 2026 fill 18 places, and two more go to the palaces read automatically. Of the 20 shown, 18 were read by hand and 2 automatically. They are ordered by stars, from the five-star houses (the eight palaces first, the six read by hand before the two read automatically) down to the two-star; within a group the hand-read hotels come first, then the others by straight-line distance to the nearest station. Below five stars we keep only the six hotels read by hand, so 18 four-, three-, two- and one-star hotels of our files are not listed. Among the five-stars read automatically we kept La Réserve and Plaza Athénée because of the palace distinction; thirteen other five-stars of our files are left out, among them Maison Albar Le Diamond, Madeleine 1er Hôtel Fauchon and Balzac, for which the cap of 20 leaves no room. The order is a rule, not a quality score, and we quote no rate. Readings made automatically give the category, rooms, address, stations and sourced facts, among them the Eiffel Tower views that their own sites show.

In our data the area counts 154 classified hotels: 45 five-star, 69 four-star, 35 three-star, three two-star and two one-star. Eight of the 13 palaces of the 2 June 2026 Atout France list are in the 8th arrondissement: Bvlgari, Fouquet’s, Four Seasons George V, Crillon, Plaza Athénée, La Réserve, Le Bristol and Royal Monceau. All eight are in this list. The nearest stop of each hotel on this page is one of these:
- Concorde (lines 1, 8 and 12): nearest stop of Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel, and Hôtel Sofitel Paris le Faubourg (8th list).
- George V (line 1): nearest stop of Fouquet’s Paris, Four Seasons Hôtel George V, Hôtel La Clef Champs-Elysees, Hôtel Vernet, Hôtel Lancaster, Hôtel Sofitel Arc de Triomphe and Hôtel Ekta (8th list).
- Miromesnil (lines 9 and 13): nearest stop of Hôtel Le Bristol, Le Pavillon des Lettres and Hôtel Petit Saint-Honoré (8th list).
- Ternes (line 2): nearest stop of Le Royal Monceau-Raffles Paris and Hôtel Élysées Ceramic (8th list).
- Alma-Marceau (line 9): nearest stop of Bulgari Hotel Paris, Hôtel Plaza Athénée, Hôtel de Sers and Hôtel Chambiges Élysées (8th list).
- Champs-Élysées–Clemenceau (lines 1 and 13): nearest stop of Hôtel La Réserve Paris (8th list).
- Franklin D. Roosevelt (lines 1 and 9): nearest stop of Hôtel Le Colisée (8th list).
The 8th by area
- Concorde and Madeleine: Crillon on place de la Concorde, La Réserve on avenue Gabriel and the Sofitel Paris le Faubourg on rue Boissy d’Anglas, three minutes from Concorde.
- Champs-Élysées and Golden Triangle: Fouquet’s, Lancaster, Ekta, Chambiges, Plaza Athénée, the Four Seasons George V, Bulgari, Hôtel de Sers and La Clef Champs-Élysées, around avenue George V and avenue Montaigne, where the LVMH headquarters stands at 22 avenue Montaigne.
- Miromesnil, Ternes and the Étoile side: Le Bristol, Pavillon des Lettres and Petit Saint-Honoré are two to six minutes from Miromesnil (lines 9 and 13), Élysées Ceramic two minutes from Ternes (line 2) and the Royal Monceau five. Vernet and the Sofitel Arc de Triomphe, towards the Arc de Triomphe, are three and five minutes from George V.
Evenings are about shows, such as the Crazy Horse on avenue George-V, the Lido theatre and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, rather than neighbourhood bars. Big events block the avenue on some days: the 14 July parade, the Tour de France finish and the evening of 31 December, when it is reserved for pedestrians.

Which kind of traveller
The 8th suits couples and shoppers, according to our data, with two Sunday-trading zones (Champs-Élysées–Montaigne and Haussmann). It is a poor fit for a small budget: only three two-star hotels exist in the core quarters. Line 1 links the area directly to Concorde, the Louvre and Bastille; line 14 from Madeleine and Saint-Lazare goes to Orly, and RER A at Charles-de-Gaulle–Étoile to Disneyland. There is no direct line to Roissy.

In 2026 the Paris tourist tax for a palace is €15.93 per adult per night, and €11.70 for a five-star hotel; minors do not pay.
