How we chose these hotels
A hotel belongs to the 7th when its geocoded point lies inside the arrondissement and its postcode is 75007. Our database holds 35 classified tourist hotels there. We sorted first those checked by hand (nine), then stars from five down, then the straight-line distance to the nearest metro or rail station. The twelve above are the first twelve of that order: the nine hotels read by hand and, among the others, the three five-stars closest to a station (J.K. Place at 46 m, Le Cinq Codet at 144 m and Pont Royal at 217 m). They include seven five-star houses, because the order puts stars before distance, and the lowest category is three stars. Next in line are another five-star, Pavillon Faubourg Saint-Germain (363 m from Rue du Bac), then the four-stars, such as the 125-room Grand Hôtel Cayré, 23 m from Rue du Bac: the 23 hotels left out simply come later in this order.

Walking distances and times come from the coordinates: straight line multiplied by 1.3, at 80 m a minute, to the nearest station. For the hotels checked by hand we list confirmed facilities; for the others we state the official category, rooms, address, metro and dated facts from the hotel’s site, and say “the hotel says” when it speaks of itself. Prices are not published.
Two halves of one arrondissement
The twelve fall into two main groups. Around rue du Bac and rue de Lille, on line 12 (RER C for Quai Voltaire), are Montalembert, Pont Royal, Quai Voltaire and J.K. Place. This is the Saint-Germain side, where Louvre and Orsay are reached on foot along the Seine; it lies 2.0 to 2.7 km from the tower in a straight line. Around École Militaire, Invalides and the Champ-de-Mars, mostly on line 8, are La Comtesse, Thoumieux, Narcisse Blanc, L’Empereur, Lévêque and Le Cinq Codet, all between 0.9 and 1.2 km from the tower. Two stand apart: The One Alma, on the Alma side with RER C and 0.8 km from the tower, and SAX, to the south at Duroc and Sèvres-Lecourbe, 1.85 km away.

- First visit. The Saint-Germain side suits better: the Louvre and Orsay are close, and line 4 from the neighbouring 6th links Châtelet and Gare du Nord. The tower side is off-centre, and the Louvre and Notre-Dame need the metro or RER C.
- Families. The tower side is recommended: the Champ-de-Mars covers 24.3 ha and is fully open, and The One Alma, Lévêque and others offer family rooms.
- Couples. Rooms with a tower view at La Comtesse, The One Alma and Lévêque.
- Budget. Poor here: no one-star hotel and three two-star hotels in the whole arrondissement. Look at the 15th arrondissement instead, or at hotels near the Eiffel Tower.
The tourist tax in 2026 is €11.70 per adult per night in a five-star hotel and €5.53 in a three-star one; minors do not pay.
