How we chose these hotels
We took a circle of 600 m around Gare du Nord (48.8811, 2.3553, from Wikidata) and measured each hotel from its coordinates, in a straight line. The selection took the hotels checked by hand first, then rotated through the categories from five stars to one, the closest first in each, up to twenty candidates; the page lists them with the hand-checked hotels first, then by stars, then by distance. No five-star appears: there is none within the circle in our base. Sixteen of the twenty candidates have a file and all sixteen are described. Four have none and cannot be listed: Picardy, Lennon and Paris Nord (two stars) and Angleterre Montmartre (one star, 580 m). Hotels with a file beyond the twenty, the nearest being Modern’Est at 593 m, are not described here.

Distances are calculated from coordinates, and walking times come from the nearest station. Only the hotels checked by hand carry confirmed facilities; for the rest we give the official category, rooms, address, metro and the dated facts of the hotel’s own site. No prices are published, and stars come from the Atout France register with the decision date.
Gare du Nord, Gare de l’Est and the canal
All sixteen belong to the Canal Saint-Martin district of the 10th arrondissement in our data. Two small streets carry most of the list: rue Saint-Quentin, with Whistler, the Timhôtel, the Ibis and the New Hôtel, and rue de Dunkerque, with Flanelles, Avalon Cosy, Richmond and Bristol Nord. Rue La Fayette, towards Gare de l’Est, has Hor, Margot and Albert 1er.

- For trains and flights. Gare du Nord serves lines 4 and 5, RER B and D and the Transilien H and K trains. The CDG Express, which will leave from Gare de l’Est, is not running in 2026; its opening is announced for 28 March 2027.
- For a first visit. Possible but not ideal: there is no great monument here, and République, with lines 3, 5, 9 and 11, connects quickly to the centre; line 8 does not stop there from 22 July 2026 to April 2027 because of works.
- For a couple. Our data rates the canal district as recommended for couples, for its promenades along the water; the hotels here stand around the stations, Les Deux Gares about 700 m from the canal banks and Bloom House about 400 m from the Louis-Blanc basin.
- For a budget. The 10th has 112 classified hotels, of which 27 have one or two stars and 54 three; see also hotels in the 10th arrondissement and Canal Saint-Martin hotels.
A last point on the tourist tax: in 2026 it is €8.45 per adult per night in a four-star hotel and €5.53 in a three-star one; minors do not pay.
