Opposite the Palais Garnier

The hotel is at 2 rue Scribe, in the 9th, between the place de l’Opéra, the boulevard des Capucines and rue Scribe, facing the Palais Garnier. It is part of the IHG group under the InterContinental name. Its façades and roofs, with the dining room, are inscribed as historic monuments (1975). The hotel dates its opening to the reign of Napoléon III and its Café de la Paix to 1862.

Atout France classified it five stars on 9 March 2022 and counts 446 rooms; the hotel’s website gives 458 rooms and suites.

What is on site

The file lists two restaurants, the Café de la Paix and La Verrière, an Algotherm Dermo Ocean spa, a fitness centre and on-site parking. The hotel holds the Clef Verte label (since 2010, by its account). It says that the view of the Opéra may be altered while the Palais Garnier façades are restored.

Among the nine hotels on this list, this is the largest by far. Kimpton St Honoré Paris, at 27–29 boulevard des Capucines, is a 149-room five-star with a pool and a spa.
