L'Hôtel Paris, 13 rue des Beaux-Arts, Saint-Germain-des-Prés — 20 rooms, 5 stars, vaulted pool, metro and who it suits. Checked October 2026.
The house on rue des Beaux-Arts
L’Hôtel occupies 13 rue des Beaux-Arts, in the 6th arrondissement, a short street between rue Bonaparte and rue de Seine. As we read the order, it lies within the Saint-Germain international tourist zone (ZTI), 150 m from the river. Atout France classified it five stars on 14 August 2024 for 20 rooms, and it belongs to A Curious Group of Hotels.
The address has a documented history: according to Wikipedia’s entry on the street, Oscar Wilde died here in 1900, when the building was the Hôtel d’Alsace. The present hotel markets itself on that connection. We leave out its slogan about being the first boutique hotel in the world, which cannot be checked.
Rooms, pool and bar
Jacques Garcia designed the interiors, and the hotel says its 20 rooms are all different. The cocktail bar is called Wilde’s. In the cellars, a vaulted pool with a hammam is available for private use on reservation and is included in the stay, again according to the hotel. Its website also states a two-night minimum for any stay that includes a Saturday. We have not confirmed a restaurant, air conditioning, accessibility or pet rules.
Stations and journeys
Saint-Germain-des-Prés on line 4 is 400 m away (five minutes), Mabillon on line 10 is six minutes and Odéon, lines 4 and 10, nine minutes. From place Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the Louvre is a direct walk of 1,033 m (13 minutes), Notre-Dame is 11.5 minutes by line 4 and the Eiffel Tower 30 minutes, walking to the Musée d’Orsay and then taking RER C. Line 4 does not stop at Saint-Michel until 19 December 2026, which is why that route no longer changes there.
Against the other Saint-Germain five-star hotels
Our list of nine has three five-star hotels in this quartier. Mandarin Oriental Lutetia has 184 rooms with a spa, pool, restaurant and parking; Hôtel Montalembert has 50 rooms and lists no pool in our file. At 20 rooms, L’Hôtel is the smallest, and with the Lutetia the only one with a pool. Four-star houses such as Hôtel de l’Abbaye and Hôtel du Quai Voltaire sit a category lower. Read the Saint-Germain-des-Prés hotel guide for the full set and the hotels of the 6th arrondissement for the district.
