Facing the garden

Le Meurice occupies 228 rue de Rivoli, in the Place-Vendôme administrative district of the 1st arrondissement, with the Tuileries garden on the other side of the street. It belongs to the Dorchester Collection. Atout France classified it five stars on 30 November 2022 and counts 160 rooms, the largest figure among the nine hotels of this list.

Rooms, tables and services

The hotel advertises suites and apartments overlooking the Tuileries and rooms with an Eiffel Tower view. It runs the Meurice Alain Ducasse restaurant, Le Dalí, La Pâtisserie du Meurice and Bar 228, plus the Valmont spa with a fitness room. Its FAQ states that parking is free; note that central Paris has been a limited-traffic zone since November 2024, closed to through traffic.

For comparison, next door at 218 rue de Rivoli the four-star Hôtel Brighton says its windows look onto the Tuileries and lists no spa; Cheval Blanc Paris is the other Palace of this list, with a pool and 72 rooms.

Metro and sights

Tuileries (line 1) is about three minutes away, Concorde (lines 1, 8, 12) six and Pyramides (lines 7, 14) seven. From our reference point at place du Marché Saint-Honoré, about 330 m from the hotel, the Louvre pyramid is a direct walk of 925 m (11.5 minutes), Notre-Dame 16 minutes by lines 14 and 4 and the Eiffel Tower 30 minutes by lines 1 and 9; Orly is 35 minutes by line 14.
