On the quai, between the bridge and the museum
The hotel stands at 8 quai du Louvre in the 1st arrondissement, in the old La Samaritaine buildings, in the Saint-Germain-l’Auxerrois administrative district. It belongs to the Cheval Blanc house of LVMH. The heritage record for La Samaritaine covers other parts of the complex (rue de la Monnaie, rue de Rivoli, rue du Pont-Neuf), so we do not claim that the rooms sit in protected walls.
Atout France gave it five stars on 23 December 2025 and counts 72 rooms. Within six months it joined the Palace list, which is why it is paired in our area guide with Le Meurice, the other Palace of the 1st in our base.
Rooms, spa and pool
The hotel sells Seine-facing rooms and a category with a view of the Louvre colonnade. The Dior Spa has an infinity pool with mosaics; the file also lists a fitness room, a restaurant and a bar.
Among the nine hotels of the area in our base, it is the only one that lists a pool. Le Meurice lists a spa but no pool in our file, and the Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal has a spa with jacuzzi and hammam.
The area on foot and by metro
Pont Neuf (line 7) is about a minute away, Louvre-Rivoli (line 1) four, and Châtelet, with lines 1, 4, 7, 11 and 14, five. From our reference point in the 1st (place du Marché Saint-Honoré, not the hotel itself), the Louvre pyramid is 11.5 minutes on foot, Notre-Dame about 16 minutes and the Eiffel Tower about 30 minutes by metro. From that point, Orly is 35 minutes by line 14, with no change.
