Hotel Le Ballu, 30 rue Ballu, Paris 9th — 35 rooms, 5 stars, heated pool and sauna, metro Place de Clichy, who it suits. Checked October 2026.
An address on rue Ballu
Hôtel Le Ballu is at 30 rue Ballu, in the 9th arrondissement, just south of place de Clichy, in the Vintimille and Ballu sector sometimes called the Nouvelle Athènes. Atout France classified it five stars on 21 May 2024, with 35 rooms. Its website uses the name “Paris Montmartre”, but we list it in our Pigalle hotel guide. The hotel is part of the Hôtels & Préférence collection.
Place de Clichy (lines 2 and 13) is 300 m away, four minutes on foot. Liège on line 13 and Blanche on line 2 are five minutes.
Pool, restaurant and rooms
The covered, heated pool measures 8 m by 2 m, with a sauna open from 7 am to 10.45 pm and a private booking slot of 45 minutes. A restaurant runs from noon to 11 pm without a break, in the garden or inside, with a Sunday brunch. The hotel says its rooms have air conditioning and a kitchenette; some have a private terrace. Families can take a room for four or a communicating unit for six, and the hotel lists two rooms adapted for reduced mobility. Pets are accepted.
Against the other five-star hotels in Pigalle
Le Ballu is one of three five-star hotels among the nine on this list. Maison Souquet has 20 rooms, a spa, a pool, a restaurant and a bar; Bus Palladium has 35 rooms with a restaurant and a bar and no pool. Le Ballu matches Bus Palladium on size but lists the pool, the garden and the family rooms. It is the only one of the three to list air conditioning, and the only one with rooms for four or more.
From the hotel to the sights
Place Pigalle, our reference point, is 580 m from the hotel. From it, the median metro journey is 19.5 minutes to the Louvre, 26 to Notre-Dame and 34 to the Eiffel Tower; from 30 rue des Martyrs, 860 m away, the figures are 18.5, 25.5 and 35. The Japanese foreign ministry (MOFA, notice of 22 May 2026) warns of touts and bars that overcharge in the Pigalle sector; our research found no official source on place Pigalle at night, so we say nothing more. The hotels of the 9th arrondissement put it beside the rest of the district.
