Between Bastille and boulevard Richard-Lenoir

Maison Bréguet stands at 8 rue Bréguet, between the Bastille and boulevard Richard-Lenoir, in the 11th arrondissement, about 350 metres in a straight line from the place de la Bastille. Our guide places it in the Bastille quartier, together with Oberkampf.

It opened in 2017 in the former premises of a factory making laundry machines, according to the hotel, and the English studio Sagrada designed the interiors. Atout France, the national classification body, has rated it five stars since 15 December 2022, with 50 rooms. No group appears on its site.

Rooms, spa and restaurant

The rooms include communicating rooms for families, rooms with a terrace and three accessible rooms. The hotel provides air conditioning or heating depending on the season. A three-bedroom house with a garden can be taken over by one party.

The spa is for guests only and has an 8-metre counter-current pool, a sauna, a hammam and one treatment cabin. A Technogym fitness room opens from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The restaurant is under a glass roof, with a terrace and a plant wall, and there is a bar. We found nothing on a car park or pets.

Metro

Bréguet-Sabin, on line 5, is 200 metres away, two minutes; Chemin Vert, on line 8, is 350 metres, four minutes; Richard Lenoir, also line 5, 450 metres, six. From the place de la Bastille, our reference point, a theoretical journey is about 17 minutes to the Louvre, 19 to Notre-Dame and 36 to the Eiffel Tower, outside disruption.

Against its neighbours

Two of the nine hotels of this list have five stars. The Boutet Bastille, about a kilometre away, has 80 rooms against Bréguet’s 50, and lists a spa and a pool as well. Among the four-stars, the Hôtel Ginette à la Folie lists a spa and a rooftop terrace, and the Hôtel L’Antoine a fitness room.
